    Hello,

From what I read, I presume you are using a Wordbee freelance version? Wordbee offers two kind of projects, Standard and Codyt. Whereas you define a source language and target language(s) in standard, it is much more flexible in Codyt and you could use it for all kind of language directions.

Codyt projects that offer more flexibility and automation are only available from the Freenlance Entrepreneur version onwards and are not included in the freelance version. If you would like to consider an upgrade, please reach out to your Account Manager or contact sales@wordbee.com

Regarding the translation memory management, please note that all resources are multilingual and multi-directional, meaning that you could simply use the same for both projects. There is no need for any exports/imports. Knowing that Wordbee is a cloud-based solution they are instantly updated once changes are made. Please select the corresponding translation memory, project memory or terminology database in the resource section of your project to link them.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards,

    Mareike

Hi Thanks Mareike. I will check out Codyt

"Knowing that Wordbee is a cloud-based solution they are instantly updated once changes are made. Please select the corresponding translation memory, project memory or terminology database in the resource section of your project to link them. "

Does this mean that I can use one central project memory for two projects?

So far, I managed to link the DE>EN and the EN>DE Project Memories as follows:

    1. I selected both languages on the "resource details" page of the project so that the appropriate project memory would show up as a resource option for the other language pair project

    2. So, that the two projects can "see" each other, I had to link the two different project memories to each other respectively as a resource.

Ideally, I would like to only use one project memory that updates in both directions. Is this only possible in the enterprise version?

    Hi,

For each project Wordbee will automatically create one Project Memory. These are meant to be project specific and/or temporary, as you have options to consolidate a project memory with a master memory (for this specific client) any time you want.

Thus, if you do prefer to work with one memory only, you will have to run the consolidation step after finishing with one file and connect this central TM to both projects, instead of working with two project memories.

The behavior of project memories and translation memories is the same in all Wordbee versions.

    Kind regards,

    Mareike

    Hi Mareike

Thank you very much for the information. I learn more about the functionality of WordBee as time goes on. I was very unclear on the "client" concept.

In my case, I am the "client". I have so many different customers on different topics that I decided not to consolidate everything in the master memory. Should this particular customer offer more work, I will consider creating a separate client. In the meantime, I will link the two different projects.

    Thanks for your help!
