Editor Page Display and Use of Old (Current) Editor

Hi,

It is very difficult for me to make this request but adapting to changes are difficult at times to certain people. We have several translators who love the horizontal source and target text orientation shown below.

I remember having been told at one of the Webinars that having this layout in new editor is currently not possible. But could you please consider adding this feature?

In addition, our translators are concerned about 1) the speed issue and 2) extra space issue, which I add another post a moment ago.

Would it be possible to keep using the old Editor page at users option until those three problems (horizontal text display, speed issue, and extra space issue) are completely resolved?

  Good afternoon Sachiyo,

   

  We are currently discussing internally about the horizontal source and target feature, we will let you know as soon as a decision has been made.

   

  Concerning the speed issue, we are constantly improving our system, changes has been made and will be made still in the future, you should see improvements through the different releases.

  Moreover, about the extra space issue, we are currently developing two new features that will remove all of these empty spaces and let you have a better overall view of the editor. We are doing our best and you will be informed here when the feature will be available.

   

  Finally, concerning the editor page, you can use the option "Let users choose", and your users will be able to choose whether they want to use the new editor or not.

  Hi Florent,

   

  Thank you for working on those issues.

  Two things:

  1) The horizontal display is very useful for us to detect tag errors and saves us a lot of time. I really appreciate your adding back that feature.

  2) As for the "Let users choose" option, I was previously told (or read the documentation) that this option will disappear a few months after the release of the official version of the New Editor.

  Could we keep using the old editor at our choice a little longer now?

  Hello Sachiyo,

   

  1) We understand it, and we analyze the possibility to integrate it. We keep you informed when we have more details about this.

   

  2) The option will be keeped during few months at minimum because, we want that sure the new version is full, speed and stable for remove the switch possibility (for full satisfaction).
