Suggestion - Monitor file configuration changes
Hi,
I've recently updated a configuration for a multi-lingual Excel template I'm using.
However, I forgot that I already had open projects that used the old configuration, and now creating the deliverables did not work for them.
So, some suggestions to improve on this:
- Save the configuration data with each project, so that if you change the configuration in the general settings, you'll still be able to produce the deliverables (do not allow changing of configurations within projects).
- If you try to change the configuration while it is in use in some projects, you'll only be able to create a copy.
- Show a notification when you modify a configuration that is in use.

Thank you for your suggestions. The file that you are talking about cannot be created due to a tag misplacement issue, this has no link with your configuration. The modification of a configuration never affects a document already marked for online translation. Because the configuration data are saved with the each file marked for online translation. So you can modify/rename/delete any configuration, your translations will never be impacted.

Romain, if Leon's file is in .xls format, does that mean that his translation will be in .xls?

Hello Richard,
Yes for almost all file format the input and the output file types are he same. The only exception is about PDF translated online: The translated file format will be docx.
