Submitting an order without a file
Hello,
We have a client who always requests quotes but refuses to send source files. Instead he provides us with the wordcount(s). We are only provided with the actual file(s) once the project has been approved and signed.
We would like to be able to create an order + a quote based on wordcounts that we would enter manually in Wordbee, for example in a dedicated field in the order form.
Could you please advise if this is possible, and if not, how we could process?
Thank you,
Carole

Hi Carole,
thak you very much for this post.
I think that in your situation the process can be the following:
1. Client or you on behalf of the client submits request via order form not uploading any file (it is perfectly fine to not upload the file at this stage).
2. Once the order appears on the list you can enter it and select Cost tab (1) like on a below screenshot and click Select (2) to open the Quote attached to the order.
3. After selecting the quote you should click Edit (1) in order to edit it and enter correct values and services in it. You can even change the status of the quote to Quote Sent (2).
4. Once changes are done you can save it clicking OK.
5. Now the details in your order has changed according to what you have entered in the Quote.
6. You can change the status of the order from Request to Proposal
letting know customer in a pop up message extra details
and confirming clicking OK.
Hope above helps.
Enjoy Easter time!
All the best
Wojciech

Hi Wojciech,
Thank you for your prompt reply.
I tried your suggestion, but cannot get a quote: the Cost tab remains empty, so I get stuck at step 2 in your process. Could you please indicate which options you selected in the order form so that a quote is created?
Here are the options I have selected so far - as you can see I need at least one file to get a quote:
Thanks in advance!
Best regards,
Carole

Hello Carole,
thanks for following up.
Could you try to select the option Create an invoice if all files could be word counted?
Let me know
