Is it possible to go back to an old project and see which engine we used for MT? Couldn't find anything at the project level or in reports.

There's no view in the project because you could always decide to manually overwrite MT with a different profile. You can, however, enter a file and have a look at an MTed segment. If you hover over the MT symbol it will display the used system.
If you have a change history in a segment you can also check the original MT system there.
You could also go to the word count settings in the Project Details and check the assigned word count profile. There you can see if you use MT and which system you use. Please be aware that while the MT was automatically applied during project creation this indicator does not show if the original translation might have been manually overwritten by a different system later.
Please also be aware that the system may differ if the project was created through the order form.
The first method by checking a segment is the safest option.
