Splitting Segments

Splitting segments now is not that clear in the new interface, you don’t have a separate window pop up to perform splitting segments as in the old editor, now you just place your cursor on where you want to split and use the shortcut key you set up. It doesn’t give you the option to split multiple sentences at once, which is extremely useful for us, is it possible to bring this functionality back?

  Thank you for your valuable feedback. It is indeed not possible at the moment to split a segment at multiple points in one single action in the new translation editor. I'll submit an internal ticket about this and keep you informed when this feature will be developed.

  Hi Alex,

   

  As Mark described, in the pop up window, we can place the cursor to add a split bar and use backspace to remove a split bar. So it's very user-friendly to split and merge segments in one single action in the old editor.

  Hello Jessica,

  We appreciate your feedback. We realize that this feature is requested by many of our users. The option to split/merge multiple segments in one window like in the old editor is still on our roadmap for the near future. We hope to have this feature ready soon.

  Is there any update on this please? It is really critical for us to have this working as we have a lot of projects where we need to ensure proper segmentation.

  Could you please respond to this feature request in the new editor? Need it to work at least as good as the old editor.

  Need ability not just to "split a segment at multiple points" but also to "join multiple segments into one" in a case where segmentation improperly broke a string into multiple parts. (Need same functionality as old editor or better.)

  Any update on when this function will be available?
