Hi, Is InDesign CC 2018 compatible with WordBee? BY that I mean INDD files. I am aware of idml.

My initial thought was that it would be great to be able to use the indd file as-is. Everybody who works with InDesign knows the issue of compatibility with older versions of the program.
However, idml is designed to be an interface format. It's something like a bunch of xml files zipped together. It lacks the thumbprints of images, which makes it much smaller than indd files. A 200MB indd file might result in a 190KB idml file when exported.
I constantly interface with InDesign CC 2018. I came to exporting idml files with everything hidden (<CTRL>+<3>) which does not need to be translated. (I exclude hidden objects from translation in the Wordbee configuration file.) I return idml files. The quality of the returned idml file is to a great part dependent on how well designed the original indd was. If formatting was achieved using tabs and spaces, so to say, the returned idml file will often look chaotic. But if the indd was "clean", using the layout elements as intended by Adobe, the idml is usually great. There are a few posts on Adobe's forum relating to this: Here and here and probably more.
The process described above works nicely for me.
I would love to hear from somebody who is using the XML import/export option.
