Potential bug in search box?

After searching within a document using the main search box, every time I clear the search box in order to return to the page I am working in, it takes me back to the first page of the document. 

This happens in every document / project I am working in. I.e. it is NOT document-specific.

This problem is relatively new and has only happened since tehre were recent changes to the functionality of the search box.
