Remove Termbase duplicates
AnsweredHi everyone,
I just wanted to reach out with a terminology management question. We have a termbase that a previous PM somehow managed to add duplicate entries to. The problem is the older entries only have 3 languages and the newer entries have 6+ languages. Is there a way to batch remove all the older entries?
Best,
Stefan

Dear Stefan,
Unfortunately there's no way to batch delete concepts from a resource. I'm afraid this has to be done individually. The only thing I can offer at this point is a batch deletion of terms and their variants in all languages but one. In that way you will still have the concept in your term base but at least the old concepts are just in one language and will not be shown in the translation finder for projects.
In order to do so you will have to enter the terminology database through the Translation Editor.
Once you're in, use the filter "Last Update" to filter for your old entries. Please make sure you filter the segments. If no filter is applied, the next action will be applied to your entire database! So please, make sure the filter is applied before you proceed.
Go to Actions > Batch Actions.
In the Batch Actions menu you may now add "Clear all segment information" twice and change the languages to the ones you'd like to delete. Once you hit apply, all filtered terms for the two languages are deleted.
It's of course only a workaround but I hope it helps!
Cheers,
Maik
