Splitting at <br> tags in xml content

Hi! I want my xml files to split at <br> tags.I checked the options "Always split text at line breaks", and "Split text at html breaking tags", but it doesn't work.

As my xml contain translatable html, I used a html configuration, and remove the "br" from the "Non-breaking tags" section. It still doesn't work.

Could you please help/advise?
