White Spaces in New Editor

We posted something similar in the past but let me post this again since I am still receiving a similar complaints after several improvements.
Basically, our translators believe that spaces between various columns and widgets should be eliminated.
I quote a comment received from one of our translators:
"...My main concern is that the various windows are no longer contiguous to each other but instead have wasted space in between them. The new decorative borders in the background between the windows serve no useful purpose and just waste a LOT of space that could be used to have the translation finder and editor main window larger, as they are now. The tab margins on the left and top are unnecessary and just take up space so, again, the editor and translation finder end up having to be so much smaller than they are now. The translation finder in particular is so small that it is very hard to read longer segments. I miss not being able to resize the windows myself. It's great if they want to add new functions, but the UI is excellent as it is in terms of its efficient layout to minimize wasted space and maximize the size of the editor and translation finder. They should leave this how it is since there is absolutely no need to change it. "

Good morning Sachiyo,
We understand the situation and we are currently working on two new features that will allow you to remove these white spaces in the new editor. I think it will meet your expectations.

I am glad to inform you that the new features will be live in the next deployment. You will now have an option called "Remove editor borders" that will remove every spaces.
Moreover, a splitter has been added in order to resize manually the translation finder or the grid.

What a disappointment. The new editor is horrible! All this wasted space, and we are left with small, tight windows. And the whole thing looks like a cheap western store. Why, why did you change something that was working perfectly?
Oh and the great news is we get to do the work to resize the windows ourselves. Thanks, I was looking for something to do.
I understand the need for progress, new features etc. but this is insane. I really resent this trend to constantly change things, in the idiotic illusion that it makes you look cool. I don't think I'll use this editor very often.

Thank you for writing and I am sorry to hear that you do not like the direction we are taking with the new editor, or the way how it looks or behaves today. Let me respond to your points:
The "western" look can be changed, you can select the background image and color style. Much like you do on Mac or Windows computers. Maybe the wood is not the best default look indeed.
As for the wasting of screen estate. This is very actively worked on and we have added options to maximize the used space. It is now a user option.
The reason we are building the new editor is to be able to incorporate new features such as: Multiple columns, real-time Q&A and other things. Indeed, we want to make it look more modern - we got many requests in that direction.
The editor is still in beta and we are working very actively with the community and many clients to make it better and better, as well as faster and faster.
