How does the external manager user profile work?
One of our suppliers is a translation agency. They work with several translators and proofreaders and we would like to give them the right to create jobs for their own people. The idea is that we assign a job to the translation agency manager and that he can create new jobs for internal use. So he can assign a translation job to one of his translators and a proofread job to one of his proofreaders. Once the translation is done, the manager will be the one delivering it back to us.
I thought this could be done using the external manager user profile, but I can't figure out how this works and what the settings should be.
I tested it using a fake supplier company, but it doesn't seem to work.
Do you have more information about this functionality?
Kind regards,

Hello Inge,
I've read the description of your query and the external manager profile is exactly what you need to use.
* External Manager profile for the translation agency manager
* External Worker Limited for the translators/proofreaders.Please note that the job status can only be changed by the External Manager, while the translator/proofreader will be able to change the document status.
Also, the translator/proofreader logins need to be created in advance. You can anonymize their if the translation agency prefers. Then, when the External Manager creates the job, they'll see the list of translators/proofreaders they want to send the job to.Kind regards,

Hi Andy,
Yes, users can only be added by inhouse management/admin users.
However, we have the plan to add a fully fledged client portal which allows people to register. Then inhouse staff only needs to approve the registration.
Since we have so many developments ongoing at Wordbee it is still just a plan though for the time being. One piece we recently added is the possibility for suppliers to amend their prices themselves, with an approval workflow. This is enabled by giving access rights to suppliers.
Regard,
Stephan

Hi Andy,
An immediate and useful workaround would consist in creating anonymized users (this could also be done in a batch mode using the data import function). With users such Translator 1, 2, 3,.... and a dummy email address.
Then, the external manager could edit any of them when necessary and update them with their real name and email adresses.
Let me know if this works for you.
Kind regards,
Brahim
