Custom fields visible in translation editor
Dear Team,
Is it at all possible to make custom fields (like client length instructions) visible in the translation editor when using an Excel configuration (without using the multicolumn)? We have an Excel with multiple target languages, but the instructions in column A are applicable to all languages.
The Excel document format profile does show the custom fields option. However, we cannot seem to make them visible in the translation editor now we are not using the multicolumn.
Thank you for your reply.
Kind regards,
Kim

Hi Kim,
Thank you for getting in touch with us.
In order to use custom fields with a excel you will have to configure a multilingual excel and tick the option ' Extract custom fields from columns'.

This will provide information for your translators for all languages in the translation editor, however, you will have to manually remove the source text if it is no longer required when you deliver the file to your client.
The option to extract custom fields from columns is currently not available for the monolingual excel configuration but you can add this to the Feature Suggestions list for our development team to review.
I hope this information is helpful!
Kind regards,

Dear Eoghan,
Thank you for your reply. We did configure the Extract custom fields option, but it is not visible for the translators in the editor. Where should we look for it, or what may I have done wrong?

Kind regards,

Hi Kim,
Thank you for your response.
You should be able to see this in the Segment Information panel under Details on the Translation Editor.
