    Hello,

I suppose the content in the CDATA is HTML? And the attribute is an HTML attribute?

Please paste a brief extract of the XML/HTML here.

    Thank you

    Hi, how was this solved?

We are in a similar situation.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Thank you for getting in touch with us.

Unfortunately we currently have no solution for this as it is not possible to exclude HTML content by tag name. However, we will move towards advanced configuration options.

Shortly we will release new options for the XLIFF filter to exclude content based on the "id"and "rename" attributes of the <trans-unit> nodes. For example to only translate (or never translate) translation units that have a specific identifier format.

In Kim's example above the CDATA content can be processed as HTML. This is what she did. What is now needed are the advanced options to exclude certain HTML tags from translation.

Right now, we do not have a solution but we are working on it step by step.

    Regards

    Stephan

    Hi Stephan,

Has this ever been resolved. We could use this as well.

    Thanks,

    Peter

    Hi Peter,

I believe we have indeed implemented such a feature since this thread was started: The HTML filter supports excluding tags.

    The steps are:

    (1) Create an HTML configuration or clone the one you use. In this configuration type the names of the tags you do not want to translate in this box. You find in under the "HTML tags and attributes" tab.

With the example above you would type "donottranslate"

    Save the configuration.

    (2) Go to your XML configuration and select your new HTML configuration:

    (3) Test

I did not try this myself before I started writing this message but I am confident.

    Regards,

    Stephan

Ok great Stephan. I might need to include the CDATA as comments or locked content as the text has some user instructions. I think I recall doing this in the past but can't find my notes. This is possible isn't it?
