Source text automically copied into target text segments.
AbgeschlossenHello,
I am running into the problem that whilst translationg (for instance from Dutch to German), whenever a translator clicks on the right (target) segment, the Dutch source text gets copied in there automatically, which the translator does then need to delete prior to writing the translation.
Turning off the Autopropagate, Autocomplete and Smart-assistant buttons does not fix the issue, as well as fiddling with several options in the "Options" -> "General" tab have also not provided me with an answer.
How to go about disabling this?
With kind regards,
Ben Pleij,
Textwerk Project Manager.

Hello Ben,
The option you're looking for is in the settings window labeled as "Copy source to text if no translation memory hit found"

Unfortunately, there is a known problem with this option as it is not being taken into account for the moment. The fix has been identified and solved, and should be included in our next release once it passes our QA process.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Kind regards,
Alex

Dear Alex,
thank you for getting back to me on such short notice! I'm "glad" to hear it's a bug on Wordbee's side: I was very confused to have found the option you highlighted, unchecked when I was trying to fix the problem myself, as I thought that would have fixed the issue. But I understand now that the problem is being fixed as we speak. Do you have an estimated timeframe for when the next batch of updates is implemented, so we can communicate this with our translators?
Kind regards,
Ben.

Hello Ben,
We expect our next release to be next Tuesday afternoon, however the fix also needs to go through our QA team to be sure that everything's in order before we push the update. As for now, expect it to be deployed for Wednesday morning at the latest. I'll be sure to inform you should anything happen that pushes this fix to a later release date.
Kind regards,
Alex

Dear Alex,
I received an email from Wordbee almost immediately after our discussion, with the release Notes for 3/15/2018. In it, one of the points was:
"[IMPROVE] [NewEditor] Various improvements
-The editor now respects the "Copy source text to editor if no translation memory hit found" and "Can edit/delete records in attached resources" access rights "
Does this mean that the fix was implemented? I just tried working in the new Editor again and text is still automatically being copied to the right segment.

Hello Ben,
Sorry for the confusion about this. While this text was included in the release notes you mentioned, it wasn't completely fixed yet. We pushed another release on the 23rd where the actual fix has been pushed. You can find the release notes here https://wordbee.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002316434-Release-Notes-3-23-2018-Wordbee-Translator
The issue should be resolved now. But please let us know if you or your translators are still facing any issues with this feature.
Kind regards,
Alex

I am new to using the new editor and I have noticed that I have this very problem (source being automatically copied to translation even though I have unchecked the setting). So it seems that the fix has not yet been made in my copy? I am using a client (agency) copy of Wordbee.
Regards,
Laurie

Good morning Laurie,
thanks for sharing the issue you have despite correct settings.
Could you let us know if your problem persist?
If yes, let us know, please which client platform you are using.
All the best

Jumping on this thread: I have this same problem. I've unchecked the box to copy source to target, but it still happens whenever there's not an available TM Match:

I'm using the company TEAM EDITION.
Thank you,
Jolie
