Wordbee Translator now allows you to preview your MS Office and InDesign documents in your browser, without needing to have Adobe or MS Office installed!
To use this new option, follow these steps:
InDesign preview is now possible, thanks to an integration with Frontlab. To use it, you should first contact Frontlab to get the required information to use their API. You will need to enter the Site ID, Username and Password in Settings --> Web Preview: InDesign and Office.
For MS Office, no data is required, simply tick the box to activate.
In the translation interface, simply hit the “Preview in browser” link into the document viewer panel. This will launch the PDF conversion, and the document will open into a new browser tab.
- MS Office
MS Office preview is done directly by rendering the document inside your Web browser. In the translation interface, simply hit the “Preview in browser” link into the document viewer panel. Online preview is supported for Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
The note ("To generate a preview, the Office file is sent to a Microsoft server.") in the Office preview setting sounds ominous.
Given confidentiality requirements, I'm not sure if I can use the online preview or not.
Can you confirm that the file and preview are done through secure connections, and that Microsoft does not retain a copy on their server after the preview is closed?
