Hi everyone,
I hope you're doing well! I just wanted to ask if there was a way to append language codes/names to files generated by Beebox? Like the way finalizing files does in WordBee. Please let me know, thanks!
Kind regards,
Stefan

Hi Stefan,
Thanks for reaching out. We currently don't have this option in Beebox. For most automated workflows it is necessary to keep the file name as localization connectors usually expect a target file with the same name back. So if we implement this feature it's of course a bit "dangerous".
I suspect you are using some sort of hotfolder integration. Could you outline your use case so we understand better what you're trying to achieve?

Hi Maik,
For some project we do use localization connectors and need the same target back, but for other projects, we upload the files ourselves to the hot folders. We then need to create the files and return to the client via our system. This is especially the case when they send large files with many repetitions.
It is our practice to append language codes to the ends of these files when we return them via our system, so we were hoping to avoid manually renaming them (even with a file renamer when there are multiple languages).
Kind regards,
Stefan
Hi Stefan,
Thanks for the feedback. Let me get the info to our developers for an assessment. I'll be in touch.

Hi Stefan,
My developers told me they found two existing ways on how to append file names upon delivery.
In the advanced delivery settings in the Hot folders tab you can use placeholders to define how a target file name can be appended. I think this should already solve your case.
If you need a more advanced options you can use our extension for translated file actions. In order to have it installed on your Beebox instance please let me know so I can forward your request to our Account Management Team.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Cheers,
Maik
