TM search

Hi,

 

When I search in a TM, I often get "empty" results, meaning a translation segment with source only, no target. That made me wonder what those results are.

I thought this is probably when you add to a TM a segment in one language pair (say, EN>FR), an English>Empty segment is also created for all of the rest of the TM's languages. Is that correct?

  Hi Leon,

  I'm sorry for the delay in replying.

  You are correct, if your TM is in EN>FR and you add an English record to it without filling in its translation in FR, then the FR segment will remain empty.

  Not exactly what I asked. Why would I add an EN record with no FR to an EN>FR TM?

  Sorry I took a wrong example. In a multilingual TM, whenever you add a segment in one language pair, the corresponding segments for the remaining languages are left empty.
