Need Help!
Hi, I`m awfully sorry to bother you guys, but I received a test assignment which is meant to use Wordbee. I wouldn`t say I understood much, that`s why I`m writing to you actually.

Please, tell me how those gray-blue pentagons are called and what they are used for. I feel I`ve done everything I could, but still I didn`t manage to solve the mistery( This must be something connected with the memory maybe, but I don`t have a slightest clue... Thank you!

Hi, no worries!
Do you mean those <x1/> <x2/>? Those are markup and need to be copied over in the translation. When you hover them with the mouse, you may get extra information of what it actually represents in the file.
In Microsoft Word documents markup is usually straightforward such as for formatting text.
In text files the meaning may depend on the configuration created by the project manager. Very likely this is some special instructions inside the text that the PM decided to "convert" to markup so that a translator cannot modify the instructions.
Hope this helps,
Stephan

Wow, thanks, that really helped a lot. Can I ask you one last question?
How do I add those markups in my text? I must’ve looked through every setting menu and yet found nothing. Sorry for me being stupid 😄0 -
Hi Dmitry,
There are 2 ways you can do that.
1) Using the formatting options button and then clicking on the formatting that is to be copied to the target language. See below:

2) The second option is just automatically fix the markup using the option "Check and fix invalid markup" which will usually copy all the mark up to the target language which you can move round in the right place. This option doesn't always copy the mark up to the right place in the translation. So be aware of that.

Hi Dmitry,
To add the markups into the translation, I would also suggest using the "Show markup menu" shortcut. It will allow you to quickly open the list of markups in the order in which they appear in the source text. You can then insert them as you translate by selecting the markups in the list with the arrow keys and pressing Enter.
You can find the list of shortcuts with their key combination in the translation editor settings by clicking on the cog icon in the top-right corner:
